Create and Manage News

Create a News Page

1. Click Create News
   
   
2. Title the News page
   
3. Select a Microsite
   
   
4. Type the information into the Body field
   
5. Complete the remaining Basic Information fields, if necessary
6. Click the News tab
   
   
7. Complete the News fields
8. Add additional items, if desired
   • Add file(s)
   • Add images or video
   • Create a Menu Link
9. Publish the page
10. Click Save

Edit a News Page

1. Navigate to the News page
2. Click edit
3. Make the necessary edits
   • Basic Information fields
   • News fields
   • Edit File(s)
   • Edit Images and/or Video
   • Edit a Menu Link
4. Publish the page
5. Click Save

Return to Article Navigation

Copy a News Page

1. Navigate to the News page
2. Click Edit
3. Click Clone
4. Make any edits as necessary
5. Publish or Unpublish the page
6. Click Save

View News Page Revisions

1. Navigate to the desired News page
2. Click Edit
3. Click Revisions
4. View the list of previous revisions

Revert a News Page to a Previous Version

1. Navigate to the desired News page
2. Click Edit
3. Click Revisions
4. Select Revert to revert the News publication to a previous version
5. Select Revert to confirm the revision

Publish or Unpublish a News Page

1. Navigate to the desired News page
2. Click Edit
3. Select the Publishing tab
   
4. Complete the Publishing options
   
   
   • Published: Check or uncheck the box publish or unpublish respectively
   • Publish On: Manually enter a date and time, or select a date and time via the dropdowns to publish the event at a later date
     
   • Unpublish On: Select a date and time to automatically unpublish the event
5. Click Save

Delete a News Page

Important Note

Only Site Admins can perform this function. This action cannot be undone.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the desired News page
2. Click Delete
3. Click Delete to confirm the deletion
   Note: This action cannot be undone

Basic Information Fields

• Title: Enter the title for the News page
  
• Microsite: Select the appropriate microsite
  
• Summary: Enter a brief summary of the Event
  
  
  Note: This field is only available by clicking Edit Summary
  
• Body: Create the body of the News page
  
• Short Description: Enter a brief description to appear in search results both on the site and in other search engines such as Google
  
  

News Fields

• News Date: Select the date on which the news item will be posted
• News Type: Select a news type to assist in result filtering
  • Public Notice
  • Press Release
  • Article
  • Announcement
