Create and Manage Announcements

Designating a News item as an Announcement will create a banner across all pages of your site to draw attention to that piece of News. We recommend using this feature for major events or news items such as election day, polling, boil water notices, or weather emergencies. This feature is not intended for daily news items.

Announcements can be set to end automatically or turned off manually.

Create an Announcement

1. Navigate to the News page
2. Click Edit
   
3. Click the News tab
   
4. Click the News Type dropdown
   
5. Click Announcement
   
6. Type the Start Date and End Date for the announcement in Month/Day/Year format
   
   
   Note: Alternatively, you may select a date using the drop-down calendar.
   
7. Click Save
   
8. View the Announcement banner across the top of the page
   

Disable an Announcement

1. Navigate to the News page designated as the Announcement
2. Click Edit
   
3. Click the News tab
   
4. Click the News Type dropdown
   
5. Select a News Type that is not Announcement
   
6. Click Save
