The following was emailed to customers in July 2024:
Greetings from the Drupal Migration team! If you’re receiving this email, the upcoming sunsetting of Drupal 7 impacts you. If you believe you received this email in error, please let us know. As part of our commitment to keeping you informed, this email serves as our monthly update on the ongoing Drupal Migration. Kindly ensure that our communications are whitelisted (drupalmigration@civicplus.com), and feel free to forward this information to all relevant departments within your organization.
What’s New in July 2024?
Migration Process Change
As was mentioned in the webinar, our designers work hard to match your new site with your old site. Due to accessibility requirements and updated design standards, some new designs may be slightly different from your current designs. To expedite the process, all requests for design changes will be made after you have migrated to Drupal 10. Any errors you find can be handled by our Support department by opening a ticket. Additionally, It will be your responsibility to go through training before your go-live date. This will all be communicated to you by your Project Manager. When you’re introduced to your Project Manager your go-live date will be set and will not be changed once set.
Drupal Migration Training Webinar
In case you missed it, on June 11, 2024, we hosted a live webinar that outlined what to expect with your migration, when you’ll be hearing from us, and other options you have related to this effort. Julie Bolton, our Solution Manager, Justin Hammon the Associate General Manager, and Kaitlin Berry our Solution Engineer presented and answered questions live. Check out the recorded webinar on our website.
What else can I do to prepare?
- You can help yourself and your fellow Drupal users by preparing your site for the migration. Need some guidance? Dave Fels, our manager of Project Management, has put together a short video providing tips to clean up your site before the migration.
- A project manager will contact you directly when your site is ready. You must act on that email. This person may not be familiar to you but will assist you in the final steps to ensure your migration is handled smoothly. If you have questions, please reply to this email or reach out to your Client Success Manager directly.
Do you recommend training in the new system?
- Yes! Drupal 10 has made great improvements to the user experience, but it will be different than what you use today.
- What is different/new? Back again is Dave Fels who developed a short video to showcase some of the biggest changes.
- Videos Online: We encourage you to be proactive with the training piece by reviewing our videos online.
What other options do I have?
I'm glad you asked! CivicPlus offers a few different website products. If you’re like many of our customers you’re always looking for ways to improve your day-to-day tasks. Julie Bolton, our Solution Manager, and Kaitlin Berry, our Solution Engineer, have a quick video showing how our Web Central platform helps customers solve their website needs compared to our Drupal product, Web Open.
Keep Us Up to Date
If you are no longer responsible for the website, kindly reply to this email, and your Customer Success Manager will guide you through the next steps.
