For Customers Currently On Drupal 7
The transition from Drupal 7 to Drupal 9 or 10 is a big leap and requires special migration work on our part. Existing customers who have a Drupal 7 website will be migrated to the Drupal 10 version.
For Customers Currently on Drupal 9
For websites already utilizing the Drupal 9 version, upgrading to the next version, Drupal 10, is as easy as an update on your phone! Your website Drupal 9 website will be updated to version 10 by November 1, 2023, with little impact on you. Upgrading from Drupal 9 to Drupal 10 has an impact on the CivicPlus development team and our team has devoted a lot of time and effort to building out the new Drupal 10 upgrade, but there will be little impact on you as the customer. You may notice small changes throughout, but they should be intuitive and have little impact on doing business as usual.
Future Upgrades Will Be Backward Compatible!
The newer and future versions of Drupal will be backward compatible, and the updates will be just that- simple updates without all of the effort that had to go into the big transition from Drupal 7 over to Drupal 9 or 10.
